Riteway Earns School Bus Industry's Only Green Certification Endorsed by the EPA's Clean School Bus USA

Riteway has earned the National School Transportation Association's (NSTA) Green School Bus Fleet Certification - GOLD LEVEL. This certification recognizes Riteway for their commitment to improving the environment through cleaner school bus fleets and company-wide practices to reduce engine exhaust emissions and conserve fuel.

The NSTA Green Fleet Certification Program has been reviewed and endorsed by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA), Clean School Bus USA Program. This is the only green fleet certification program endorsed by the EPA that is available in the school bus industry. The program recognizes NSTA members for their effort in working toward a cleaner environment through the use of available EPA/CARB verified technologies as well as new bus technology.

A few highlights of Riteway’s green efforts are:  idle reduction and fuel conservation programs, vehicles that are 2007 EPA diesel emission compliant and 50% of the fleet being 2004 models or newer.  Riteway has in place a company wide environmental sustainability program.  Through this program, Riteway aims to be a leader in environmental sustainability within the ground transportation industry, through a focused effort to become more aware of the effects their employees, business partners, and vendors have on the environment.

NSTA expects that Green School Bus Fleet Certification program will be a valuable tool to demonstrate the school bus industry’s commitment particularly that of private school bus companies, to ensure the cleanest school bus fleets possible and to educate local communities on why it’s green to take the yellow school bus.
