Girlfriend’s Weekend Getaway

September 19-21, 2008

 Day One:
We arrive at Williams Sonoma in the all-new Plaza at Rosedale Center for a one-hour cooking demonstration by local chefs. After the  demonstration, enjoy shopping at the newly completed $55 million expansion of Rosedale.

Check into the Marriott hotel in Roseville. Tonight, we board the Padelford Riverboats for an evening dinner cruise in St. Paul  (Dinner)

Day Two:
After an included breakfast buffet, you’ll discover the birthplace of Minnesota with a city tour of Stillwater.  After your tour, enjoy lunch at the Lowell Inn in Stillwater and wine tasting and a tour of Northern Vineyards Winery. We finish up with a little free time for shopping.

We arrive back to our hotel in Roseville in time to freshen up. This evening we take in dinner and a show at the Lowry Theater in St. Paul.      (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)

Day Three:   

 After an included breakfast buffet we make a stop a Custom Chocolates    before departing for home with your souvenirs, smiles and memories. We make a lunch stop (on our own) along the way.(Breakfast)

South Dakota Tour

September 26th - October 1st

Day 1 - Friday, September 26 - Travel Day

We depart early this morning and spend the day traveling west to Sioux Falls, South Dakota, for our evening stay.

Day 2 ~ Saturday, September 27 – Corn Palace, Wall Drug, Historic Deadwood

Continuing further into South Dakota, we’ll visit the whimsical Corn Palace in Mitchell. A short break in Wall, South Dakota for a stop in at Wall Drug. Accommodations for the next three nights are at the First Gold Hotel & Casino in Deadwood. Hotel features 24 hour gaming, free wine, beer, snacks and hot appetizers for players each evening in the casino.

Day 3 ~ Sunday, September 28 - Mount Rushmore, Crazy Horse Memorial, Arts Festival Custer This morning's brief drive will bring us to Crazy Horse Memorial, the still unfinished mountain carving dedicated to Native Americans, and the rejuvenated arts community of Hill City with its funky shops, galleries and boutiques. We'll stop to see the Presidents at Mount Rushmore, before attending the Buffalo Roundup Arts Festival. This one-of-a-kind event includes a buffalo wallow chili cook-off, buffalo chip throwing contest, cowboy poets, musical entertainment, arts & crafts booths and much more. After a wonderful day of exploring and sightseeing we'll return to the hotel for another restful night in the mountain air or more gaming action. (CB,L)

Day 4 - Monday, September 29 ~ Custer State Park Buffalo Roundup

We'll be up bright and early this morning to take in the exciting annual buffalo roundup. Feel the thunder as 1,500 head of buffalo rumble by. Park personnel, cowboys and cowgirls do their best to drive the Park's herd into the Buffalo Corrals - passing two designated viewing areas along the way. After the herd is safely in the corrals we will enjoy an included buffalo chuck wagon cookout. (B,L)

Day 5 - Tuesday, September 30 ~ Badlands National Park

We begin traveling towards home today. Our next stop will be the Badlands National Park. A short break at Wall Drug to pick up last minute treasures. We overnight in Sioux Falls. (B)

Day 6 - Wednesday, October 1 ~ Travel Day

Sadly we bid a fond farewell to our Wild West adventure as we travel home. (B,L)
