Riteway Honored as one of Wisconsin’s Top Family Businesses

On May 17, 2007 Riteway Bus Service, Inc. was honored as one of the top family businesses in Wisconsin at a banquet held in Madison. The award was given to Riteway based on its accomplishments and contributions throughout the state. The program was sponsored by Smith and Gesteland, a Madison-based CPA and consulting firm, Associated Bank, and the Madison-based law firm of DeWitt Ross & Stevens.

“Family businesses are a major force in our economy”, stated Jeanie Farmer, Partner and Smith & Gesteland and Chair of the firm’s Family Business Practice. “This award honors family businesses, some of whom are into their third, fourth, and fifth generations. They anchor their communities, provide jobs, support charities, and lead by example. We wanted to acknowledge those contributions with these awards”.

Riteway Bus Service, Inc. employs over 600 people with terminals located in Germantown, Milwaukee, Milton, Cedarburg, Portage, Slinger, Columbus and Oak Creek. Riteways’ management team consists of three generations of the Bast Family, all of whom still work daily at the terminals.

“We are very pleased to have received this award. Riteway is honored to be part of the communities we serve and we are dedicated to growing with these communities in the future”, said Ron Bast, President of Riteway Bus Service, Inc.
